The Kountry Kids – December 2013 Club of the Month

By Nebraska 4-H Foundation January 13, 2014

The Kountry Kids have had a very busy year. They started by hosting a Community Halloween Parade with prizes donated by area businesses, there were approximately 200 youth at that event. They decorated a business window for 4-H Awareness week, they won first place in that competition. The club continued their commitment to community service by making and taking cookies to five different area nursing homes spreading Valentine cheer. During the Easter Egg hunt sponsored by the Custer Care Center, they were asked to escort the children safely to the Easter Egg hunt. Finally, they collected candy for Treats 4 Our Troops; they sent two boxes of candy to deployed service members. They aren’t stopping there, they plan to collect calendars at the end of the year, and assemble picture books for the Alzheimer’s Unit at the VA Center. The Nebraska 4-H Foundation and Nebraska 4-H Ambassadors are proud to call the Kountry Kids 4-H Club of the Month for December 2013.

The Nebraska 4-H Ambassadors together with the Nebraska 4-H Foundation provide the 4-H Club of the Month program to all Nebraska 4-H clubs throughout the state.  Clubs can nominate themselves by telling why their club should be chosen as Club of the Month.  A different club will be chosen each month and will be awarded with a certificate and $50 cash card.  For more information go to the Nebraska 4-H Foundation website at https://ne4hfoundation.org/recognition/ or e-mail ne4hfoundation@gmail.com
